Investigating microRNA regulation of neuronal development by bringing new techniques to the lab, including CRISPR-based methods, co-culture assays, and microscopy methods. Using bioinformatic analysis of CLIPseq and RNAseq data to inform an innovative approach to studying microRNA function, and optimizing an innovative cell type-specific variant of CLIPseq in collaboration with Eclipse Bio. Presented project proposals and experimental results in lab meetings and seminars.

Circuit dissection of midbrain dopamine neurons and their brainstem inputs. Characterized the connectivity and function of neuronal subpopulations using cell type- and projection-specific techniques such as mouse behavioral assays with optogenetic stimulation, confocal microscopy, and monosynaptic rabies tracing. Presented results at seminars, lab meetings, and national conferences.

Studied pathogen-induced rearrangements in the actin cytoskeleton of host cells using molecular cloning, virus production, cell culture, and live-cell confocal microscopy.

Development of automated tablet composition assays for quality control, utilizing techniques including HPLC, UPLC, and volumetric KF titration. Analyzed chromatography data and presented results at group meeting.
